Born in Menlo Park, CA, Cowell was a musically precocious child with a gift for experimentation.  At one point, he began to play his piano by lifting the lid and playing directly on the strings!  His travels in the Middle East, India and Japan influenced his compositions for piano and orchestra.  Join Jack Brin for a sampling of Cowell's musical styles.
