Art Appreciation with Jack Brin, films and conversation.

The primary form of European art is painting on canvas, and the individual practitioners are celebrated as artists.  These are not features of Islamic art.  What can be found, then, in common with art of the west?  The answers are architecture, relief, mosaics, illumination, and geometric figures.  One more feature can be found based on Arabic script.  Calligraphy has been developed to an art form in its own right.
