Today's Film: A Christmas Carol
Based on the classic novel written by Charles Dickens, and first published in 1843, this version of the film stars Alistair Sim and was first released in 1951.  In black & white, it is the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge who is
visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.  Scrooge awakens on Christmas morning, a new man intent on doing good and celebrating the season with all of those around him.    Not rated.  86 minutes
Copies of the book may be requested at the adult reference desk.
Martha Reingold
has been a film-lover as far back as she can remember.  For the last 8 years, “Martha’s Movies” has been presenting “Films for Fun & Films for Thought” at retirement communities and libraries in the greater Hartford area.
