Bloomfield resident Reneé Simmons, will bring to Prosser some quilts she has made and tell the stories behind them. Reneé has been quilting since 1995 after collecting many scraps of material from her artistic endeavors making fabric reversible handbags. She has had a long career in the graphic arts and as an illustrator. Quilts and storytelling go hand in hand, and tonight’s program is about the long intertwined tradition of both arts. The quilts of Harriet Powers served as an inspiration to Sue Monk Kidd as she wrote The Invention of Wings.
Registration is appreciated.
