Based on true events, Marie's Story  recounts the life of a young girl born deaf and blind and the courageous journey of the nun who helps her learn to communicate with the world around her.  Set at the turn of the 19th century, fourteen year old Marie is brought by her parents to the Larnay Institute in central France, where an order of Catholic nuns manage a school for the deaf.  There idealist Sister Marguerite sees in Marie a unique potential, and vows to bring the girl out of darkness.  Running time 94 minutes.  In French with English subtitles.  Not rated.  A film by Jean-Pierre Ameris.
