Enjoy a live performance today by Lisabeth Miller, accompanied by pianist Frank Viola
Lyric soprano Lisabeth Miller is sought after for her musically sensitive and dramatically compelling performances on both the opera and concert stages.  She was a featured soloist with the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the Greater Hartford Messiah Sing.  She was the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana with the University of Connecticut Festival Chorus,  and  debuted with Connecticut Concert Opera in Gianni Schicchi. Miller  is dedicated to singing new music, and has had several pieces composed for her. Included in her concert will be new pieces by Libby Larsen, Tom Cipullo, and selections from contemporary musical theater. She is the artistic director of Hartford Opera Theater, and director of music at Old St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Bloomfield, CT.

Judith Lang Zaimont: After early success as a concert pianist, she found her true passion was composing. She has written over 100 works that have been played in many countries around the world. Her compositions have been performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra. She has composed 3 symphonies and a chamber opera, and has won numerous competitions and many honors.

Stephen Paulus has been commissioned to compose pieces by both the New York
Philharmonic and Philadelphia Orchestra. In 1973, he was co-founder of the American
Composers Forum. Central to his works is a dramatic sensibility making use of "lively textural contrasts and striking juxtapositions."

Russ Salk will bring his collection of recordings by contemporary composers for your listening pleasure. Enjoy musical excerpts and learn a bit about selected contemporary composers. Registration is appreciated.
