Gravestones and cemeteries tell a story.  If you know how to look at the symbols on a gravestone, you can better understand the cultural makeup of a community.  Gravestones are art forms changing with fashion, culture and beliefs of the era.  Though a powerpoint presentation, local cemeteries will be explored revealing the stories and secrets hidden behind their gates.
Tonight's presentation looks at past practices, and also current and future practices.

Connie Robinson is past president of the Noah Webster House and West Hartford Historical Society, and a current board member of the Cedar Hill Cemetery Association. She has taught  this gravestones course for 15 years at the Chautauqua Institution in New York and at other venues.
