The library and the Wintonbury Land Trust are co-sponsors of tonight's presentation:
Frogs & Salamanders of New England  by John Himmelman.
In early Spring Gray Treefrogs leave the ground by the thousands across Bloomfield and migrate to nearby wetlands to mate. They are accompanied by many other amphibians who fill our vernal pools and ponds with song and amore. Come learn about amphibians in New England through photographs, recordings of frog calls, tips on finding frogs and salamanders, and stories of their life cycles.
Illustrator, author, and naturalist John Himmelman has been writing about local wildlife since third grade!   He co-founded the Connecticut Butterfly Association and led the Killingworth Land Conservation Trust and Inland Wetlands Commission. His many books include children's award-winners Noisy Frog Sing-Along and Pipaluk and the Whales and adult nonfiction Discovering Amphibians and Guide to Night Singing Insects.
