In 1930, the Bloomfield Village Improvement Association, under the remarkable leadership of Frederick C. Bidwell, started the creation of Filley Park and Pond. This occurred two decades after Alfred Filley donated six and a half acres to the Association. This 24-minute film relates the many problems encountered over the years and brings us to the much-anticipated current renovation project.
The film was produced by Dr. Ralph Schmoll. Tonight he will show the film on the big screen, followed by time for questions and discussion. Tonight’s program is cosponsored by the library and the Wintonbury Historical Society.
