Giacomo Puccini (1858 – 1924) was one of the most gifted of operatic composers. He had an excellent sense of theater, full command of orchestration, and a sadistic streak toward women in life and in opera. During his career he created more operas that continue to hold the stage than anyone else. Preceding the biography we will see and hear famous arias from Madama Butterfly, Tosca, La Boheme, and Turandot.
