In The Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys, 

Antoinette, the daughter of a Jamaican family ruined by the emancipation of the slaves, marries Mr. Rochester and begins her path to madness.

Discussion will be facilitated by Milla Riggio, the James J. Goodwin Professor of English at Trinity College.  Copies of the book are available at Prosser.   Join in the discussion and enjoy a taste of the Caribbean in literature along with some Caribbean tasty treats, courtesy of the West Indian Foundation, Inc.
