Based on a true story. In the wake of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, a Russian literature professor in Havana, is sent to translate for the Soviet children who have been brought to Cuba for medical treatment. During this time, the Berlin Wall falls and a deep economic crisis hits the island. The suffering of the professor's family and the Chernobyl children is at the heart of the story.
