Event Details

Today's recordings include works by the following composers:
Ryan Wigglesworth was born in Yorkshire in 1979. He has established himself as a composer, conductor, and pianist. The Times (of London) wrote that his music is "stamped with iridescent hues, instrumental finesse, shapely ideas, and a lyrical impulse." He was educated at Oxford University, and between 2007 and 2009 he was a Lecturer at Cambridge University.

Jose Luis Greco was born in NYC in 1953. He is the son of Spanish dancers Jose Greco and Mila Amoparo, and nephew of the great Metropolitan Opera star Norina Greco. As a child, he studied piano and guitar, performed as an actor and dancer, and played both rock music and jazz. He went on to earn his
Masters and Doctoral degrees in composition at Columbia University. He is active in many aspects of the performing arts. He now lives in Spain, where much of his music is being actively performed.

Sean Hickey was born in Detroit in 1970. His musical career began at age 12 with an electric guitar and a stack of early Van Heusen records. He studied jazz guitar at Oakland University, and then studied composition and theory, earning his degree at Wayne State University. He has continued his studies, and received numerous grants and commissions, notably one from the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
