To The Ends of the Earth – Documentary Film and Conversation
This 2016 documentary presents the voices and experiences of numerous private citizens and scientific experts as it explores the impact of our increasingly intensive efforts to extract fossil fuels. Narrated by Emma Thompson, the film covers the impacts of tar sands and shale extraction, fracking and deep-sea drilling on both the environment and the economy. Running time: 55 minutes.
Following the film there will be discussion and a brief presentation of Bloomfield’s own conservation plans as a participant in the SustainableCT campaign and in UConn’s Conservation Ambassador Program.
This film event is sponsored by the library and the CT Chapter of 350.org, a global grassroots nonprofit striving to halt the rise of greenhouse emissions by driving toward 100% renewable energy for all.
