Event Details

“Two Poets of Profound Impact”--Cheshire poet Pat Mottola teaches creative writing at Southern CT State University as well as to senior citizens throughout the state. A Pushcart Prize nominee, she is co-president of the CT Poetry Society and served as editor of Connecticut River Review from 2012-2017. She is author of two books, Under the Red Dress and After Hours, and is involved with mentoring Afghan women through the Afghan Women’s Writing Project. Susan Allison, Poet Laureate of Middletown, co-founder of The Buttonwood Tree in Middletown, and poetry activist, was scheduled but passed away last spring. Several poets and her husband Stephan will give a memorial reading of poems from her two books, Down by the Riverside Ways and Poet Laureate of Middletown Proclaimed and Provoked. Open mic follows.
